Video footage of the attack shows Iyanna Dior running into a convenience store for shelter as the group goes after her. Comments on the video suggest the conflict began after a car accident involving Dior. One user who posted a video wrote, 'A mob of Black people decided to gang up on her, slurs, misgendering, and culminating in mob action violence against her.'
The mob of around 30 men and women piled onto Dior leaving her unable to escape. She later posted a Facebook video showing her injuries: her face and body were covered in scratches and her skull was swollen.
