Total EU new car sales down by 24% in January

Sales of passenger cars in the EU dropped by 24.04% year-on-year in January 2021, the European Automotive Manufacturers Association (ACEA) said on Wednesday February 17.

New car sales in the EU totaled 726,491 vehicles in January 2021, down from 956,447 units sold in the corresponding month of 2020.
"In January 2021, the EU passenger car market posted an accelerated decline, as Covid-19-related restrictions continued to weigh heavily on sales across the EU," ACEA said.
