Tata Steel commissions steel recycling plant in India to offer ferrous scrap domestically

Tata Steel India has commissioned its first steel recycling plant in Rohtak, Haryana, the company announced on August 18, providing a boost to the Indian domestic scrap industry.

The plant will have a capacity of 500,000 tonnes per year and will be set up at Rohtak, Haryana. It is being built in partnership with Aarti Green Tech, a subsidiary of Aarti Steel, as a 'Build, Own, Operate' (BOO) partner.
Tata Steel announced the commissioning of the plant in 2020 and claims the plant is India's first such facility. It will be equipped with modern and mechanized equipment including a shredder, baler and material handler.
