NORTHERN EUROPE REBAR: Prices stable to lower on weaker buying, imports

Steel rebar prices in Northern Europe were stable to slightly weaker over the past seven days, due to slow buying activity and the availability of cheaper imports, sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday September 8.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar) domestic, delivered Northern Europe was ?,?870-900 ($1,032-1,067) per tonne on Wednesday, widening down by ?,?10 per tonne from ?,?880-900 per tonne.
The assessment was based on deals, offers and estimates of achievable prices from market participants.
In Germany, sources reported deals done mostly at the lower end of the range during the week.
