GULF STEEL BILLET, REBAR: Prices increase as demand rebounds

The prices for steel billet and rebar in the United Arab Emirates have increased over the past week, with demand improving after the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, as well as the easing of restrictions under the Covid-19 pandemic, market sources said on Tuesday June 2.

Market participants in the UAE were expecting demand to improve in late May, when the Islamic holy month of Ramadan ended with the Eid al-Fitr last week.
Ramadan is normally a slow month for the region, and several curfew orders made trade even slower.
