GULF FLAT STEEL IMPORTS: Some prices up amid moderate demand

Some flat steel import prices in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia moved up again this week, although demand was moderate, sources told Fastmarkets over the week to Tuesday September 8.

Some deals for flat steel imports were heard done at higher levels over the assessment week, which sources said were primarily for restocking purposes, Fastmarkets heard.

Offer prices for hot-rolled coil (HRC) from India were heard in the UAE at $540-550 per tonne cfr, up from $535-540 per tonne cfr last week following higher global prices, sources said.
