Dylan is an accomplished entrepreneur who has founded multiple businesses over the past several years. He is currently a co-founder with Sensytec, a smart materials technology startup that has received over $3M in R&D funding to date. He was the Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Sales for Sensytec for the past 2 years, but will be taking on a reduced role as he is now pursuing Spectiv. In his time working with Sensytec he participated in over 12 business plan competitions across the country, of which Sensytec went on to win 3 national business plan competitions and earn funding in 10 total. In his position with Sensytec, Dylan managed company relations and was responsible for keeping contact with high-level executives. He managed relationships with Oil and Gas companies such as: Baker Hughes, Chevron, GE, etc... Outside of Oil and Gas he managed relationships with infrastructure companies such as: Cemex, Argos, and Avanti. Finally, Dylan was also responsible for managing the manufacturing and purchasing of the Smart Cement additive. He has several years of experience in purchasing and working with manufacturers for sourcing products. describes himself as "the angriest guy in economics," is writer/publisher of The Mogambo Guru economic newsletter and a general partner and COO for Smith Consultant Group, serving the financial and medical communities. Prior to joining Smith, Daughty was a financial adviser to American Express Financial Advisers in Clearwater, Florida. He holds an MBA in operations research from the University of South Florida and is a strong advocate for sound fiscal and monetary policy. Bill Murphy, GATA ChairmanMurphy grew up in Glen Ridge, N.J., and graduated from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in 1968. In his senior year he broke all the Ivy League single-year pass-receving records. He then became a starting wide receiver for the Boston Patriots of the American Football League. He went on to work for various Wall Street brokerage firms and specialized in commodity futures. He began as a Merrill Lynch trainee and went on to Shearson Hayden Stone and Drexel Burnham. From there he became affiliated with introducing brokers and eventually started his own brokerage on 5th Avenue in New York. He now operates an Internet site for financial commentary, www.lemetropolecafe.com.
