New York spot gold gained $7.80 to $1,302.50 on Friday. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 8.48 points to 850.72 while the TSX Gold Index inched 0.11 point higher to 195.46. Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TXG) followed bullion higher, adding 54 cents to $11.93 on 479,000 shares, while Guyana Goldfields Inc. (GUY) went the other way, dropping 14 cents to $5.08 on 547,000 shares.

Dr. Alexander Becker and Brian Slusarchuk's Kenadyr Mining (Holdings) Corp. (KEN), up 1.5 cents to 17 cents on 405,000 shares, has received assays of up to 6.17 grams of gold per tonne over 400 metres from a new hole into the East zone at its Borubai project in the Kyrgyz Republic. The latest assays are from holes along a second section drilled about 25 metres west of its first section. The assays fell a bit short of results obtained earlier this fall, when one hole produced 8.15 grams of gold per tonne across 50 metres, buoyed by an 18-metre interval that averaged 12.8 grams per tonne.
