Seabridge Gold's goal is to determine if the Iskut property contains a copper-gold porphyry system.

Seabridge Gold Inc. (SEA:TSX; SA:NYSE.MKT) announced in a news release it plans to start drilling in June at its Iskut project in British Columbia's Golden Triangle.

With the program, the Toronto-based company will drill test up to 8,000 meters for a gold-copper porphyry like the one it discovered at its nearby KSM project. The targets will be the magnetic and IP anomalies located below and west of the Quartz Rise Lithocap.

"We acquired Iskut because we saw clear evidence of a large porphyry system which looked to be similar in age and geology to our KSM project 30 kilometers to the east," Chairman and CEO Rudi Fronk said in the release.

All of the people involved with the Iskut drill campaign will follow strict policies to minimize coronavirus risks, the company advised.

"We are now working with the Tahltan Nation, British Columbia regulators, our suppliers and consulting with competitors to advance our target this season in a manner that will ensure safe operations during the COVID-19 pandemic," Fronk noted.
