Irving Resources states drilling provides "solid confirmation a significant precious metal vein system underlies the Nanko target."

In a news release, Irving Resources Inc. (IRV:CSE; IRVRF:OTCMKTS) announced that the first two holes drilled in the Nanko target at the Omui mine site of its Omu gold project in Japan indicate the presence of a strong mineralizing system.

"We now have solid confirmation a significant precious metal vein system underlies the Nanko target. We are very pleased to see solid assys from multiple veins in holes 20OMI-002 and 20OMI-003, the first two holes drilled here," Quinton Hennigh, director and technical advisor to Vancouver-based Irving Resources, said in the release.

"Interestingly, we see preservation of the entire profile of the hot spring system here, much like at Omu Sinter," Hennigh said. "That means we have some near surface mineralization associated with the sinter cap as well as some high-grade veins below."

Diamond drill holes 20OMI-002 and 20OMI-003, placed 200 meters apart in Nanko, confirm that multiple gold-silver veins exist there.

Specifically, hole 20OMI-002 returned 12.59 grams per ton gold (12.59 g/t Au) and 91.36 g/t silver (Ag) over 2.01 meters (2.01m) within 2.9 g/t Au and 29.5 g/t Ag over 14.50m.

Hole 20OMI-003 showed two vein intercepts. One was 8.15 g/t Au and 147.29 g/t Ag over 1.76m within 3.55 g/t Au and 69.24 g/t Ag over 14.24m, beginning at 207m downhole.

The other, deeper intercept was 21.65 g/t Au and 538.75 g/t Ag over 1.72m, including 56.1 g/t Au and 1,435 g/t Ag over 0.6m, which was encountered at 341.7m downhole. Irving believes this intercept is a splinter off of the much larger vein that was encountered higher in the hole and, therefore, good potential exists for "finding higher grades within the larger vein at deeper levels within the boiling level of the system," the release explained. To test its hypothesis, the company stated that it plans further drilling there.
