Generation Mining intends to wrap up the feasibility study on Marathon this quarter.

Generation Mining Ltd. (GENM:TSX; GENMF:OTCQB; 9GN:FSE) announced in a news release it finished Phase 2 metallurgical testing and pilot plant trials and is closer to completing the feasibility study for its Marathon palladium-copper project in Ontario, Canada.

"We are extremely pleased with the work completed in both the Phase 1 and Phase 2 metallurgical testing programs. We have advanced on a feasibility design that includes an annual production rate of 9.2 million tons per year and believe the plant flowsheet and design are an improvement on prior concepts with key elements greatly derisked," CEO Jamie Levy said in the release.

The company's phase 2 metallurgical work included locked cycle flotation testing and pilot plant trials. On pilot plant testing, percent recoveries were 92.5-94.7 for copper, 86.9-90.2 for palladium, 63.5-69.7 for platinum and 67.7-86.9 for gold.

The metals with the highest grade concentrates were silver (68 grams per ton), palladium (38.9 grams per ton), iron (24.7%), sulfur (23.6%) and copper (19.7%).

"The evaluation of Woodgrove Direct Flotation Reactors (DFR) technology for cleaner circuit flotation was also completed supporting feasibility study design concepts," the company stated.

"The phase 2 program reaffirmed expectations for metal recovery (as established in the phase 1 testing) and demonstrated the expected range of copper-platinum group element concentrate grade," the release noted.

CEO Jamie Levy stated, "The Feasibility Study is advancing very efficiently, and we expect to have the Study ready for communication later in Q1, 2021."
