EUROPE WIRE ROD: Prices dip on restrained buying

Prices for mesh-quality steel wire rod in Europe declined over the past seven days on pressure from buyers, sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday June 3.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel wire rod (mesh-quality), domestic, delivered Southern Europe, was ?,?420-440 ($470-493) per tonne on Wednesday, narrowing down by ?,?10 per tonne over a week.
Italy
The Italian market have today after a long weekend due to public holidays.
The "workable" price for wire rod in Italy was said to be ?,?420-430 per tonne delivered this week, narrowing down ?,?10 per tonne over the past seven days.
"There is still problem with consumption, and buyers still have problems with payments," one trader said.
