EUROPE HRC: Prices largely stable amid lack of trading activity

The domestic markets for hot-rolled coil across Europe were seasonally quiet on Thursday August 5, with prices holding stable, Fastmarkets heard.

European buyers have replenished their HRC stocks and were largely holding back from trading while evaluating the market situation. Regular trading activity was expected to revive toward September, following the traditional market activity cycle in Europe.
Consequently, market sources were not projecting any significant price changes until the end of the summer holiday season.
