EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices jump on short supply, low output

The domestic price of hot-rolled coil in Northern Europe jumped day-on-day on Monday August 24, supported by the absence of competitive imports and reduced domestic output, sources have told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets' daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, was calculated at ?,?443.75 ($523.40) per tonne on Monday, up by ?,?10.00 per tonne from ?,?433.75 per tonne on August 21.
The index was also up by ?,?24.58 per tonne week on week and up by ?,?35.54 per tonne month on month.
