Elkem acquires specialized silicones plant in France

Norway-based silicon and ferro-silicon producer Elkem has signed an agreement to acquire a new plant near Lyon, France, to produce highly specialized organo-functional silicones, the company said on Wednesday February 10.

The exact purchase price has not been disclosed, although the final price 'is in the low double-digit millions of euros,' Elkem said.
The company expects the plant to start production by the end of 2021 but has not provided any detail on capacity.
