Commodities held after Covid-19 case closes Meishan wharf at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in China

Commodities - including nickel, cobalt hydroxide and fluorspar - are being held in China at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port's Meishan wharf after the facility was locked down due to a positive Covid-19 infection at the site, market participants told Fastmarkets on Thursday August 12.

One person was confirmed as infected with Covid-19 on August 11 and the local government has implemented strict controls and has halted all operations at the wharf.
No vehicles or people are allowed into the area until further notice, so any commodities that have already arrived at the wharf could be subject to delays.
