China's hot-rolled coil prices fell on Wednesday August 26 amid thin trading, with market sentiment dampened by the impact of Typhoon Bavi.

Domestic
Eastern China (Shanghai): 4,020-4,030 yuan ($582-583) yuan per tonne, down 20-30 yuan per tonne
Several Shanghai-based traders said trading there was thin on Wednesday, forcing some sellers to offer at just 4,000 yuan per tonne in the afternoon to win orders.
They are not sure whether such price was acceptable for buyers, but said the dominant traded level was 4,020-4,030 yuan per tonne on Tuesday.
