CHINA HRC: Concerns over demand resurface in market

China's domestic hot-rolled coil prices were largely unchanged on Thursday August 5, with market participants weighing poor demand against shrinking production following the release of a raft of industry data.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 5,770-5,820 yuan ($893-901) per tonne, narrowing upward by 10 yuan per tonne
The China Iron & Steel Association (Cisa) said on Thursday that its member mills' daily crude steel output had averaged 2.11 million tonnes in the last 11 days of July, down by 3.97% from mid-July.

Member mills had 13.81 million tonnes of finished steel in their inventories at the end of July, which is 1.1 million tonnes (7.4%) lower than on July 20, according to Cisa data.
