ASIA STEEL SCRAP DIGEST: Japan sells to Bangladesh, Vietnam at lower prices

Sellers of Japanese scrap have closed deals to both Bangladesh and Vietnam at lower prices, market participants told Fastmarkets on Thursday September 9.

The September Kanto Tetsugen auction was concluded for Japanese H2 scrap on Thursday morning at an average of ?46,260 ($419.48) per tonne on a free alongside ship (fas) basis, a drop of ?386 per tonne from August's average.
Four 5,000-tonne parcels were bought by a single Japanese trader at the same price, with all of the cargoes expected to ship to Vietnam.
In total, 14 buyers submitted bids for 121,150 tonnes of material.
