ALUMINIUM FOUNDRY WRAP: European premiums up again; US premium steady

Aluminium primary foundry alloy (PFA) premiums in Europe rose for a fifth consecutive month on Friday December 11 due to stronger demand, while the premium in the United States was steady despite stronger demand in that market as well.

Demand in Eastern Europe continues to improve along with primary aluminium premiums.
But the move was capped by low liquidity, with participants focusing on long-term contracts for 2021 rather than nearby deals.
Fastmarkets assessed the aluminium primary foundry alloy silicon 7 ingot premium, ddp Eastern Europe at $320-360 per tonne on Friday, up from $310-350 per tonne on November 13.
