Saudi Arabian flat steel re-roller and coater Unicoil is now able to produce pre-painted galvanized steel (PPGI), or color-coated coils, in thicknesses up to 1.50mm, the company told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday January 31.
Its previous limit was 1.20mm, but increased demand for building cladding, side-walling and kitchen appliances made the company focus on higher gauges, Unicoil said.The company can now produce PPGI in thicknesses from 0.22mm to 1.50mm and in widths of 500-1,250mm.Unicoil produces 400,000 tonnes per year of pickled and oiled coil, 340,000 tpy of cold-rolled coil, 250,000 tpy of hot-dipped galvanized coil,...
