URANIUM: Denison advances Wheeler River to pre-feasibility stage

SASKATCHEWAN - Toronto's Denison Mines Corp. is ready to begin the pre-feasibility study for its Wheeler River uranium project in the Athabasca Basin. The company has engaged Stantec Consulting and Engcomp Engineering and Computing Professionals to lead and author the study. Hatch will assemble the mineral processing information, and Denison Environmental Services will handle that part.

Wheeler River is the largest undeveloped high grade uranium project in northern Saskatchewan. According to the 2016 preliminary economic assessment, The Phoenix and Gryphon deposits have indicated resources of 166,400 tonnes at an average grade of 19.14% uranium oxide containing 70.2 million lb. of U3O8. The inferred resource is 842,000 tonnes averaging 2.37% U3O8. - - - - The Phoenix deposit will be mined by jet boring, and the Gryphon by longhole stoping. The project has an estimated pre-production capex requirement of $560 million.
