Thanksgiving Week Stuffed With Retail Earnings

Thanksgiving week is coming up, and investors will have plenty to digest on Wall Street. The upcoming calendar during the holiday-shortened week features a full plate of economic data and corporate earnings.

Some notable earnings names include retail stalwarts Target (TGT), Lowe's (LOW), Kohl's (KSS), and Urban Outfitters (URBN). In addition, investors will be eager for any news on trade talks between the U.S. and China, as the two countries prepare for their G-20 summit gathering on Nov. 30.

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

On Monday, Nov. 19, New York Fed President John Williams will take the mic several times. We'll also get the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) housing market index, as well as e-commerce retail sales. Agilent (A), Burlington Stores (BURL), Dollar Tree (DLTR), Guess? (GES), Intuit (INTU), JD.com (JD), L Brands (LB), Pure Storage (PSTG), and URBN will report earnings.

Tuesday, Nov. 20, will be quiet, with only housing starts to be released. On the earnings front, Analog Devices (ADI), Autodesk (ADSK), Barnes & Noble (BKS), Best Buy (BBY), Campbell Soup (CPB), Children's Place (PLCE), Foot Locker, Gap (GPS), Hormel Foods (HRL), Kohl's, Lowe's, Medtronic (MDT), Ross Stores (ROST), Target, and TJX Companies (TJX) will all report.

A busy Wednesday, Nov. 21, is headlined by durable goods orders, weekly jobless claims, consumer sentiment data, and existing homes sales, as well as the Conference Board's index of leading economic indicators. On the energy front, the crude inventories report and the Baker-Hughes rig count are also due out. Deere (DE) and will report earnings.

U.S. markets will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, for Thanksgiving, and will close early on Friday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m. ET. In that abbreviated session, though, Markit's flash composite purchasing managers index (PMI) will be released, along with the Fed's balance sheet. There are no earnings of note.
