Shipping container chaos to continue for some time, Oldendorff exec says

The challenges with container shipping, including port congestion and supply chain disruptions, are likely to continue for some time, according to an executive at shipping company Oldendorff Carriers GmbH & Co.

Scott Bergeron said that while Oldendorff is a dry bulk cargo shipping firm, it was receiving a surprising number of enquiries from traditional container shipping cargo owners asking for help.
"We even got an enquiry from someone wanting to ship 30,000 tonnes of walnuts on a dry bulk carrier, which poses some interesting questions," he told a panel, hosted by the United States-Russia Chamber of Commerce and chaired by Mercury Resources chief executive officer Anton Posner.
