EUROPE PLATE: Domestic prices to rise on support from coil increases

Domestic prices for heavy steel plate in Europe are expected to rise following the positive trend settled in the region's market for steel coil products, sources told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday January 31.

High slab costs are also expected to support higher plate prices, especially in Southern European, where the majority of plate produced by re-rollers, according to market source.Metal Bulletin's weekly price assessment for domestic grade-S235JR heavy steel plate in Southern Europe was ?,?550-560 ($682-694) per tonne ex-works on January 31, unchanged over the week.The...
