Alrosa Garners $11M at Rough Auction

RAPAPORT... Alrosa sold $10.7 million worth of rough at a large-stoneauction in Hong Kong, the Russian miner said Tuesday. The 136 diamonds - each over 10.8 carats - weighed acombined 2,234 carats, including 25 fancy-yellow stones, and fetched an averageprice of $4,790 per carat. The auction took place during the September HongKong Jewellery & Gem Fair. Companies from Hong Kong, mainland China, Belgium, Israeland India participated in the auction, Alrosa said.
