(IDEX Online) - A 23.58-ct fancy yellow diamond, set in a platinum and gold ring fetched $325,000 in an online auction by Christie's New York.The price was above the high estimate of $300,000 in the Christie's Jewels Online that closed yesterday and achieved a total of $2,703,750.The top lot featured a cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant-cut diamond natural color yellow diamond, of SI1 clarity, with a pair of triangular-cut white diamonds with a combined weight of 2.50 to 2.75 carats.Christie's said 98 per cent sold by lot and 139 per cent hammer above low estimate. The sale attracted a global audience with bidders from 39 countries and 30 per cent first-time registrants.Other highlights included a round diamond ring of 4.18-cts that sold for $81,250 and a 'snowflake' diamond medallion necklace by Graff that also achieved $81,250..Pic shows the yellow diamond ring
