The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a poor 66-95-129. The TSX Venture Exchange rose fractionally to 829 while polished diamond prices edged upward. Sheldon Inwentash and Arno Brand's Gratomic Inc. (GRAT), called CKR Carbon Corp. until late last year, dropped 2.5 cents to 21.5 cents on 3.97 million shares. The company has been working its Aukam graphite deposit in Namibia, but its last news,now a month old,covered a plan to develop "an ecosystem" to help the company market graphene.
Grenville Thomas and Ken Armstrong's North Arrow Minerals Inc. (NAR), up 1.5 cents to 23 cents on 78,000 shares, has wrapped up its latest mini-bulk test of the Q1-4 kimberlite at its Naujaat project, just north of Repulse Bay in Nunavut. The company processed 209.8 tonnes of kimberlite from a new mini-bulk test of the pipe, and the rock produced 64.25 carats of diamonds larger than a one-millimetre cut-off. That worked out to 30.6 carats per hundred tonnes, the company's best test yet, but a result still well below the existing resource estimate of 48.8 million tonnes inferred at 53.6 carats per hundred tonnes.
